The MagSafe power supply is the power cord released by Apple for its Macbook line of laptops. Unlike a regular computer power cord, which is connected to the computer via a port on the machine, the Magsafe power cord attaches to the side of the Macbook via a magnet, which "peels off" if the cable is pulled.

The plastic sheath on the Magsafe card is prone to crack near the plastic adapter, which then causes the twist and fray wire. You can fix this minor problem before the wire breaks completely and avoid purchasing a new power cord.

Instructions

1.Disconnect the Magsafe power supply from the computer and the wall outlet.

2.Grasp the MagSafe power supply in one hand and use a pair of wire strippers to cut through the broken plastic sheath on the wire about half an inch below the break. Gently press the cutting edge into the plastic sheath, turning it to cut the plastic around its circumference. Avoid using too much pressure, which can cause a clean cut through the whole wire.

3.Slip a razor under the plastic sheath where you will cut it with wire cutters. Slide the plastic until the plastic breaks, then remove the sheath. Now you need about half an inch of exposed wire.

4.Grasp the frayed thread with your fingers and roll gently in one direction to wrap around yourself.

5.Wrap a piece of electrical tape around the rolled wire to hold it in place, then continue wrapping the wire so that it is completely covered with tape. Use large quantities of tape to make sure the wire is stiff to prevent future damage. You can also visit Apple service center to fix all  Magsafe Macbook Pro concern very effectively.
