MS office is a tool which every organization, employee or individual uses for work. Method 1:  Insert the document into some other file

You will find a final paragraph mark in every Word document which comprises information about it. If the document is damaged, then you may get the text back by omitting final paragraph mark.

To do so, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Go to file menu and click on new and then on a blank document.

Step 2: Go to "Insert tab" and click "object" in the text group and then on "Text from File".

Step 3: Select a chosen file, and then click on "Insert".

Method 2: Use /a switch to start word  

It is a troubleshooting tool which is used to find the problem in Word. It prevents global templates and add-ins from loading automatically. It also locks the settings files which restrict read or modify feature. Following are the steps for using/a switch:

Step 1: Type Run in the Search bar and press enter

Step 2: Now in the dialogue box, type winword /a, and press enter

If the problem resolves with using the /a switch, then try the next method to know the cause.

Method 3: Try deleting the Word data registry subkey

When you restart Word, then the program rebuilds a Word data registry key with the help of default settings. To delete it, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Exit all the office programs.

Step 2: Write regedit in the search box and then press enter.

Step 3: Find the following registry subkey for the version you are using

Word 2016

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Word\Data

Word 2013

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Word\Data

Word 2010

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Word\Data

Word 2007

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Data

Word 2003

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Word\Data

Step 4: Click on data, and then click on "export" in the menu.

Step 5: Name the file Wddata.reg, and then save it to a desktop.

Step 6: On the Edit menu, click on "delete" and then click "Yes".

Step 7: Exit the registry editor.

If Word starts up normally and works accurately, then the problem has been resolved that was a damaged Word Data registry key.
